The Dollar Business, India’s most exclusive platform on export-imports, manufacturing and services trade was delighted to host The Dollar Business G.R.O.W Workshop at Hotel Dazzle, Agra today. This was the first in a planned series of workshops to be conducted across the country throughout 2016-17. The half-day workshop brought together stakeholders of the manufacturer, supplier, SSE and MSME community.
The GROW workshop agenda was designed to guide and equip individuals in undertaking export-import activities, and giving an adequate tour of Exim procedures, documentation, available incentives, challenges, etc. Whether it is understanding regulations or which agency to approach or how to get logistics help – the workshop answered all essential questions pertaining to the industry. The workshop was conducted by some of the most well-known experts in India in the field of foreign trade. Experts identified a number of potential opportunities for foreign trade available to manufacturers, suppliers and MSMEs in Agra.
The speakers at the workshop included Dr. A K Sengupta, Former Dean – IIFT & Chief Consulting Editor, The Dollar Business, who spoke on how to start an export business in India. Shri Steven Philip Warner, President (VMPL) and Editor-in-Chief of The Dollar Business, spoke on six myths that hinder people from exporting and talked about ways and means to overcome these obstacles. He also spoke about how The Dollar Business GROW and Connect programs can help manufactures, traders and exporters grow their business abroad. Shri Puran Dawar, Chairman, Agra Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Chamber (AFMEC), spoke on export manufacturing under the Make in India initiative. Shri V. M. Jha, Deputy Director, MSME-Development Institute, Agra delivered some wonderful insights on “How to enhance the competitiveness in the global market”. Shri Y S Garg, Advisor, FIEO, Kanpur Chapter presented his views on Indian Trade Portal and Free Trade Agreements.
Challenges and opportunities along with possible solutions were discussed and debated by experts and guests at the workshop. The workshop participants, who belonged to a number of different industries, were extremely satisfied with the what they could take away in such a short time.
