With the sector facing serious challenges because of issues ranging from corruption to environmental clearances, the 2014 edition of this event assumes a lot of importance not only because there is new government in charge but also because the event is co-sponsored by it. TexIndia September 9-11, Tirupur www.texindiafair.com With 76 exhibitors and 4,711 top visitors, the last edition of TexIndia saw participation from major international and domestic clothing brands and the event helped in addressing the increasing need for augmenting the supply chain, specifically in terms of raw materials for manufacturing of apparel – both knitted and woven. IIRT Fair 2014 September 17-19, New Delhi www.iirtf.in The event is jointly organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation and CSIR-Central Road Research Institute. The participation profile will include industry players from the road and transportation sector. The event will introduce the road & transportation fraternity to the latest advancements and technological growth at the global level. Apart from the exhibition, a couple of seminars are also being planned to be held during the fair. Electronic India 2014 September 23-25, Bangalore www.electronica-india.com The fair is for electronic components, systems and applications. In 2013, 23 exhibitors from 14 different countries participated in the trade fair to present their latest developments to 11,589 visitors from 20 countries. Last year international decision makers from the industry came together and discussed latest topics on the electronic product and components market. IMTS 2014 September 8-13, Chicago, USA www.imts.com The International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) registered participation of 1,900 exhibitors and 100,000 visitors in 2012. The fair provides platform to showcase products to more than 100,000 industrial decision makers who are expected to visit the six-day fair. The event is held every two years. East Afripack 2014 September 9-12, Nairobi, Kenya www.eastafripack.com The exhibition is dedicated to processing, packaging and converting industry in the East Africa Region. China Import and Export Fair October 15-Novmber 04, Guangzhou, China www.chinaexhibition.com The China Import and Export Fair, which is also called Canton Fair, was first held in 1957 and since then it is been held in Guangzhou twice a year. The Fair this year will be held in three phases – the first is from Oct 15 to 19, the second phase is from Oct 23 to 27 and the third from Oct 31 to Nov 4. During its 50 year history, the fair has become a comprehensive international trade fair with the longest history, most prestigious reputation, variety in commodities range, most participants, and best deals in China. The fair last year comprises 48 trade delegations, including thousands of MNCs, manufacturers, research institutions, and private enterprises, most of them with strong reputations and market strength. GLASSTEC October 21-24, Dusseldorf, Germany www.glasstec-online.com Glasstec is the world‘s largest trade fair for the glass industry and its suppliers. For over 30 years, Glasstec has served as a forum for collaboration between manufacturers, architects, designers, and end users. Over 1,200 exhibitors from throughout the world will present their innovations at the Glasstec in fields ranging from glass machinery and equipment construction to the glazier trade. Among them will be more than 50 American companies. The show attracts more than 45,000 trade visitors, with 57% coming from 52 countries abroad.
