Chinese industrial park to come up in Telangana

The Telangana government is ready to sign an agreement with China’s Hunan province to establish sister-state relationship

As part of efforts to bring foreign investments in the state, the Telangana government has decided to allocate 500 acres of land for the setting up of an industrial park meant for small enterprises from China. Arvind Kumar, Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce, Telangana, said that the state government will allocate the land to develop an industrial park with all the facilities. “We are keen to have large group of Chinese SMEs to come and operate at the Industrial Park”, he said while addressing a Chinese business delegation in Hyderabad on Saturday. A 25-member delegation from China’s Hunan province met business leaders in the state and representatives from the government. “The delegation comprised of 25 members, both from government and industry from the Hunan Province, China. The objective of the meeting was to explore various business opportunities between the Hunan Province, China and the state of Telangana,” CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) said in a statement. Speaking at the meeting, He Baoxiang, Vice Governor of Hunan said that Hunan province and Telangana are complimentary to each other and can work together especially in the areas of technology, education and culture. He also expressed willingness to investment in sectors like IT, e-commerce, software development, pharma industry, infrastructure, manufacturing of heavy machinery for construction, non-ferrous metals, besides others. Jupally Kirshna Rao, Minister for Industries, Telangana, said that the government is willing to work closely with the government of China to enhance trade and business. The minister said that the state is ready to sign an MoU with Hunan province to establish a sister-state relationship and collaborate in the areas of tourism, culture, education and industry. According to Sathya Moorthy, Chairman, Sino-India Education & Technology Alliance, Hunan, the Chinese province and Telangana with their “smart partnership” can enhance trade between the two up to 300 billion. Vanitha Datla, Chairperson, CII Telangana and Executive Director & CFO, Elico Limited, said that there was immense scope to strengthen the relations between India and China, especially through trade and business with Telangana.
