Energy Efficient Induction Motors–Three Phase Squirrel Cage

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986 (63 of 1986), the Central Government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, is of the opinion that it is necessary and expedient so to do in the public interest, hereby makes the following Order to amend the Energy Efficient Induction Motors–Three Phase Squirrel Cage (Quality Control) Order, 2017, namely:-

1. This Order may be called the Energy Efficient Induction Motors–Three Phase Squirrel Cage (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2017.

2. In the Energy Efficient Induction Motors – Three Phase Squirrel Cage (Quality Control) Order, 2017,

(i) in clause 1, in sub-clause (ii) for the word and figures “from 01.10.2017”, the words, letters and figures “from the 1st January, 2018” shall be substituted;

(ii) in clause (3), in sub-clause (i), for the proviso, the following shall be substituted, namely:-

“Provided that nothing in this Order shall apply in relation to export of Energy Efficient Induction Motors – three Phase Squirrel Cage, which may conform to any specification required by the foreign buyer.”

(iii) in clause 5, in sub-clause (1) for item (c), the following shall be substituted, namely:-

“(c) enter and search any premises and seize Energy Efficient Induction Motors – three Phase Squirrel Cage in finish stock condition (ready for sale) in respect of which it has reason to believe that a contravention of any provision of this Order has been committed or the said Energy Efficient Induction Motors – three Phase Squirrel Cage and accessories are not of the specified standard.”;

(iv) after clause 9, the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-

“10. Penalty for Contravention - Any person who contravenes the provisions of this order shall be deemed to have violated the provisions section 14 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act and shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions of the said Act.”.
