The Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) has urged the government to establish Export Promotion Councils (EPC) in Nagpur, Maharashtra to help boost exports of agricultural commodities and reduce documentation time required to export items from the region. The government provides several incentives to exporters to boost competitiveness at the global level. FIEO, Mumbai, said that the global market has become very competitive today and benefits and incentives play a crucial role for a better pricing structure. However, exporters sometimes fail to avail such incentives due to lack of awareness. To help the exporting community avail such benefits, the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), set up by Ministry of Commerce, Government of India (WR), in association with  Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce & IDBI, organised a seminar on “Export Incentives, Duty Drawback and other Promotional Schemes under Foreign Trade Policy” on November 28, 2014 at Nagpur, Maharashtra. Mihir Shah, faculty expert and consultant, spoke on topics like Duty Remission schemes, EPCG Scheme, Vishesh Krishi Gram Upaj Yojana, Focused Product Scheme, Focus Market Scheme, Special Focus Market Scheme, and Scope of Utilisation of Duty Credit Script.     Mayur Panchmatiya, President, NVCC, said that such seminars are welcome as many exporters are unaware of the benefits and incentives in exports. He hoped that the Maharashtra Government will encourage and guide exporters and help tap the huge but hidden potential in this region for exports. He said, “The region is rich in agricultural commodities like oranges, soyabeen, cotton, etc.” He added that the Export Promotion Councils at Nagpur will help as people of Vidarbha now have to go to Mumbai for paper work on export formalities. “This will help the youth of the region find more opportunities,” he said. Speaking at the seminar, Padma Murthy, Deputy Director, FIEO (WR), said that FIEO and the Government are planning to organise the Destination Gujarat-Vibrant India First B2B Trade Summit on 12th-13th January 2015 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
