Jaitley to meet key investors in Japan soon

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley plans to visit the Soft Bank CEO in Japan.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has plans to visit the Soft Bank CEO and the head of Suzuki Motor Corp head Osamu Suzuki as well as several other investors during his six-day trip to Japan.  

An official statement informed that Jaitley will leave for Japan, Saturday evening.

Upon his arrival in Tokyo, he will meet the Chief Executive officer of Soft Bank Masayoshi Son to discuss the investment opportunities that India will present to the them.

After that, on Day 2 he would meet the Japanese Prime minister Shinzo Abe and attend the 22nd International Conference on “The future Asia”, which is being organized by Nikkei Inc.

The meeting with Suzuki head has been planned for May 31st after his participation in the conference “The Future Asia”.

The finance minister will also give a key note address at the roundtable on National Investment & Infrastructure Fund (NIIF).

He will also have meetings with Norihiro Takahashi, Government Pension Investment Fund President and Takuma Hatano, CEO and the President of Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Cooperation for Transport and Urban Development.

During his visit in Japan, he will also meet with the CEO’s of various companies at the Japan- India Business Corporation Committee meet.

Meetings have also planned with Shinichi Kitaoka, President of Japan International Cooperation Agency and Hiroaki Nakanishi, Chairman of Hitachi.

On the evening of June 1st, he will leave for Osaka to deliver a lecture on ‘India: Political, Social and Economic Changes’ at the Osaka University. 

He would also participate in the Make in India- An Investment Promotion Seminar and meet selected CEO’s and CII delegation.

Back in Tokyo on June 3rd meetings including the ones with the officials of Eastspring Investment and Mitsui Banking Corporation form a part of his itinerary.

The Finance Minister will back in Delhi on June 4th. A high level CEO delegation from CII will be accompanying the minister to Japan. The delegation consists of Industry’s senior leader like Atul Punj, Punj Llyod Chairman, Dr. Naushad Forbes, President, CII and Co-Chairman, Forbes Marshall Pvt. Ltd., DCM Chairman and Managing Director Ajay S. Shriram, Bharat Forge executive director Amit B. Kalyani and Wipro’s Japan head Naohide Takatani.
