  Making a strong pitch for Karnataka to attract and promote investments, Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries & Tourism R.V. Deshpande on Wednesday hailed the state as the ‘Startup Capital’ of India, saying “the future is being made in Karnataka’. “The future is in hi-technology and this hi-technology is being made in Karnataka. From 3D printing to Robotics Internet, from Nano Technology to Advanced Materials, these technologies will define the way we live. And Karnataka has become the hub for all these technologies,” said Deshpande, stepping up his efforts to get the state more investments as he interacted with potential investors of Andhra and Telangana. Setting the stage of for the ‘Invest Karnataka 2016’ – the global investors meet to be held in February next year, the Minister on Wednesday hosted the Hyderabad road show, organised in partnership with FICCI. Inviting investors in Hyderabad to come forward to explore business opportunities in Karnataka, the Minister said that the “Karnataka government will do everything possible to enable companies to conduct business ethically and easily.” He reiterated that they are not against concessions and incentives. “We want to attract investors with our strengths which lies in the skilled human resource, technical expertise and developed infrastructure. And Karnataka’s USP is the powerful combination of all these.” Deshpande also averred that the state government is investing in a big way in upgrading the infrastructure to include backward regions. “The Karnataka government is committed to upgrading the infrastructure to make Karnataka the best place to do business in the region,” he said. Towards the end, the Minister said that “Invest Karnataka 2016 will not only focus on attracting investments in 8 focus sectors, but will also be showcasing various initiatives taken by the government .” The event saw senior government officials of Karnataka, members of FICCI Telangana and Andhra Pradesh region, key industrialists and CEOs in Hyderabad discuss potential business opportunities in Karnataka. “We have come to attend the event so as to explore various options in Karnataka. We have already got a land there and we now want to find out how we can develop that and how would the Karnataka government help us in converting that land into an useful prospect,” said SubhashDama, advisor inDama Enterprises. He was quick to add: “We are a trading company in Hyderabad and we are planning for an expansion. This road show provides a platform for us to compare and understand what incentives – both monetary and policy – does the Karnataka government offer for players like us.”
