India imposes definitive ADD on imports of Hydrogen peroxide from six Asian countries

India has imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on the imports of hydrogen peroxide largely used in corrosion control and bleaching both industrially and domestically, on six of its neighbours.

The countries Bangladesh, Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia, Pakistan and Thailand have been dumping hydrogen peroxide at cheaper rates causing injury to the domestic players. 

Two Indian companies, National Peroxide Ltd and Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd had appealed to the Directorate General of Anti-Dumping(DGAD) to initiate a probe into the indiscriminate dumping of the chemical in the Indian market. 

The DGAD after the probe has recommended the imposition of anti-dumping duty ranging between $46.16 to $117.94 on all the six countries. This duty will be effective for a period of 5 years and shall be payable in Indian currency.

The imposition of definitive anti-dumping duty has been informed via notification No.-28/2017-CUSTOMS (ADD) Dated 14th June 2017.
