Towards promoting investment and foreign collaboration in the field of technology, the Indian industry is gearing up for the upcoming global Russian industrial trade show- ‘INNOPROM SHOW’, where India would be the partner country. Taking precedence of the fact that India wants to become the manufacturing hub in the global supply chain, the Government is keen to exhibit its interest in attracting global technology in the trade show that is going to be held in Yekaterinburga city, Russia, during July 11-14, 2016. India’s apex engineering industry body Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) will be leading the Indian side at the show, under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. “India has been named as the Partner Country in the global show where initiatives like ‘Make in India’ would be highlighted. There would be high level participation from the Department of Heavy Industry, Ministry of Power and the Department of Electronics as well,” EEPC told The Dollar Business. “Facing global headwinds, India is looking to diversify its trade and industry collaborations and Russia fits in very well in our game plan,” said T S Bhasin, EEPC Chairman. According to EEPC, while public sector companies including BHEL, NTPC and NHPC are ready to participate in the show, private sector giants-Reliance Industries and L&T are keen to use the platform for advancing business ties with their Russian counterparts. Meanwhile, the Russian organisers of the event were quoted to have said, “India will be in the spotlight at the Russian industrial trade fair.” The Indian participation will be quite overwhelming with 4,000 sq.mt being allocated to it in the main hall of the trade show. Through this event, India and Russia intend to strengthen their bilateral ties in trade & economy and expand opportunities of national industrial sectors across the spectrum.
