Electronic and computer software division of the Export Promotion Council (ESC) organised the 2nd edition of India Electronic Expo on 17-18 March,2016 in New Delhi. Many top Indian electronics companies along with companies from various countries participated and displayed their products in the event. The event was also attended by The Dollar Business in Delhi. When asked about the experience of participating in this event, Ashutosh Agarwal, Tesca Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Jaipur said, “This is a wonderful event organised by ESE. The staff here are very cooperative and supportive. This is the second show and the show is growing in terms of its popularity and in terms of visitors coming to see it. I also see a lot of familiar faces who were here the last time. I could meet people and recognize those who have attended an earlier show. So, I believe it’s a very nice event and this is the second time we are exhibiting it here.” In terms of reach and publicity this event was the best platform for many companies to showcase their new technologies and innovation, the best place to meet top buyers and suppliers and establish a good network. Nishat Arora, Vice President-Strategic Alliance of Atlanta Systems Pvt. Ltd., Delhi, remarked, “The event has been really good and we had some filtered response unlike the previous experience where there was too much noise, we had some well-selected customers, I won’t say too many but very few and I just want to say one thing related to this event that we can convert these customers into business.” The Prime Minister’s Make in India scheme is an impetus for businesses to reckon with. The Govt too on its part is taking initiatives by providing the right platform to the Indian electronic industries. Commenting on the event Manoj Khanna, Protection Technologies also spoke to The Dollar Business exclusively, “This is my first time in this type of a seminar but I have been associated with ESC for a long time and also have been in various BSMs and trade shows in India as well as overseas.” Remarking on the participants in the show Manoj Khanna said, “the organisers of the event have taken excellent steps to showcase Indian electronic and software entrepreneurs on one platform. But I feel we could have broadened the scope of participants in the show to other parts of the world too. I see, may be about 90% of the entrants are from Africa while we could have participants from Asia, Europe or other parts. It would have been more meaningful for all the participants. It is an excellent step and a good thought but where it lacks is maybe we are not able to generate enough delegates to visit the show.”
The Dollar Business also reached out to Foreign Delegate, Jude Ozinegbe, CEO of Zinochrome, Nigeria, “I thank ESC for this event, this is my second time in India. The first time I came to India was in 2013 for the software event and second time here in 2016 for the hardware event. The event is very interesting, I met many entrepreneurs of CCTVs, tempero mobiles and so on. Right now we are trying to sign an MoU for partnership and we are trying to make links for inverters, Nigeria needs lots of inverters as we experience lot of power problems.” “Apart from this I also want to appreciate ESC for its hospitality and for having invited us to India. I also want to add this that the technology here in India is superb. And I hope India and Nigeria’s industries will work Jude together and will grow business in future.”
