J K Tyres begins export through New Mangalore Port

The Mysore based tyre manufacturer and exporter J K Tyres witnessed a landmark achievement due to an aggressive business promotion drive initiated by New Mangalore port administration, as the company commenced exports of tyres through new port.

“After protracted business initiatives and liasoning with the top management of J K Tyres, the port was successful in convincing the company to commence its operation and commit their exports through NMPT,” the Port Trust said in a press release. 

The first consignment of trial export of 40’ high cube container was shipped from Mangalore. The destination of the consignment is Manzanillo port in Mexico.

“All the containers were stuffed in the factory in Mysuru and then shipped on M V Tiger Goman Vessel,” said Y R Belegal, Traffic Manager, NMPT.

Belegal also assured J K Tyres of increasing its volume of shipment. The company can also enjoy the cost advantage by transporting the radial tyres in bulk quantity for stuffing inside the port.

The port also conveyed gratitude to the commissioner of customs, Cargo links and M S C Lines and the clearing and the forwarding agents for the handling of these consignments.

The port had recently arranged a customer interaction meet with exporters in Mysore.
