Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Global Investor Summit via video conferencing on February 16, Raghubar Das, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand told reporters during media briefing.

The Global Summit, which will be held on February 16-17, is being organised by the Jharkhand state government to improve per capita income, gross domestic product (GDP) and growth rate of the state, Das said.

Well-known industrialists and teams from Australia and China will take part in the two-day summit, he added.

The Chief Minister had said on Monday that Japan, Tunisia, Czech Republic and Mongolia would be the partner countries at the summit and around 2,500 delegates from all over the world are expected to attend the event, with 12- 15 central ministers and 40 industrialists gracing the summit.

An official statement on Tuesday quoted Das as saying that an Investment Promotion Board would be created. The Board would have a meet every month to look into and remove bottlenecks if any.

He also informed that a 'Bhoomi pujan' would be held in March to set up a textile industry, and added that the proposed port in Sahibganj district would help in the growth of business.

Industrialists from the state could boost their businesses through business-to-business meets at the event and can even put their business proposals on the Momentum Jharkhand Portal's B2B indicator, the Chief Minister explained.

The Chief Minister said there are over 50 forest products unique to Jharkhand and anyone can set up an industry, while adding that the official machinery has started focussing on exporting lac and other produce.

He appreciated the Union Govt’s initiative of setting up, India’s premier hospital, the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Deoghar, Jharkhand that would render medical help to people in 8-9 districts.
