Lacoste India is planning to double its sales points and increase its sales turnover by two-fold by 2021. This was due to the company’s dynamic entry into online retailing in the country.

“We have launched our digital flagship store in India catering to over 6,000 pin codes. It will help us reach out to a larger number of customers. We are also in talks with select marketplace firms to sell our products,” said Rajesh Jain, Managing Director and CEO, Lacoste India.

Lacoste India has 48 stores across 18 different cities in India, and one store in Maldives.

Jain said the company expects the digital flagship to contribute about 3-5% of its total sales in the next 18-24 months, while e-commerce channels are expected to contribute 10% of the total turnover by that time.

Lacoste has recently launched its online store in India. Prior to this it had launched digital stores in Korea, Australia, Japan and China. The French lifestyle brand will sell its entire portfolio online, including apparel, accessories, footwear, perfume and leather. The company now plans to expand its outreach to a wider consumer base in tier I and tier II cities. Lacoste operates through the Sports and Leisure Apparels Ltd. in India.
