Mother Dairy, a leading supplier of milk, is aiming to cross a turnover mark of Rs.10,000 crore by the end of financial year 2019, on the back of increasing demand across all segments including dairy products along with fresh as well as processed fruits and vegetables. The company has recorded a turnover of Rs.7,186 crore during the last financial year. Out of this, the dairy business alone had a share of about 75 percent.

In an attempt to expand its business, Mother Dairy is planning to establish a processing plant for integrated food and vegetables having a capacity of 25,000 tonnes per year, at a projected cost of Rs.75 crore in Ranchi (Jharkhand). The capacity of the freezing line at the plant will be 5,000 tonnes of finished product annually and will mainly focus on peas produced in Jharkhand. The plant will have a pulp and concentrate line with a capacity to produce 20,000 tonnes of finished products per year. This will mainly include processing of tomato, mango and several other fruits.

In addition, Mother Dairy is also looking for new markets for its dairy and milk products as well as increasing its portfolio with new product launches. Mother Dairy  is a fully-owned subsidiary of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and has a wide portfolio of products in the segment of dairy items, edible oil, fruits and vegetables and pulses that cater to the daily needs of every household.

Over the past few years, the company has created leadership position in the market for itself in the branded milk category in Delhi and NCR region through a strong network of its outlets and retail channels. The company has also expanded its reach to other parts of the country with its offerings of dairy and milk products, making it among the few companies to have such a vast channel of distribution in the country.

Recently, Mother Dairy had partnered with Paytm to allow its consumers to make cashless payments via the Paytm’s wallet service, at more than 100 milk outlets.
