Mukesh Bansal’s CureFit bags $15 million investment

Mukesh Bansal, co-founder of Myntra, bagged $15 million for his start-up CureFit. This marks it as the biggest investment round in Indian start-ups this year.
The group of marquee investors backing the maiden project initiated by Bansal and Ankit Nagori are IDG Ventures India, Accel Partners and Kalaari Capital.
The $15 million investment round includes $3 billion invested by Bansal.
The aim is to build innovative product to help customers manage their health proactively by use of technology, said Bansal, who led commerce platform of Flipkart earlier. Bansal teamed up with his former colleague Ankit Nagori and is planning to launch CureFit in early September.
CureFit is an app which is likely to offer products and solutions to the customers for curative and preventive healthcare combining enagegment, briefing and delivery through online and offline mediums.
The app also plans to join hands with offline health and fitness service providers like gymnasiums.
The company, which now has ten employees, plans to expand its team by adding 30-40 people more.
Bansal will lead the product and technology development functions and Nagori will lead the business development and operations department. Vani Kola, Kalaari’s Managing Director, will join the board of directors of CureFit.
CureFit is an end-to-end solution enabling users to control their health, improve the quality of life and lower healthcare cost, said Nagori.
The start-up firm even plans to award points to the ones who follow positive fitness routine. The points can be exchanged for actual medical needs, if any.
