Najib keen to extend Malaysian investments in tourism, infrastructure in Rajasthan

Malaysia on Sunday expressed keen interest to invest in infrastructure and tourism sectors of Rajasthan.
The Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, who was in Jaipur as a part of his 6-day visit to India, held discussions with theChief Minister Vasundhara Raje and other senior officials of the state, regarding investment opportunities for companies of Malaysia.
The Malaysian Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction at the fact that the state of Rajasthan has emerged as a major investment-friendly destination in India.
“Malaysian investors are interested in several sectors including tourism, one of the prominent industries in Rajasthan, and infrastructure development in which the Malaysian companies have expertise,” he said.
Other than tourism and infrastructure, Raje invited Malaysian companies to invest in urban development, water management, health care, transport and other sectors too.
Both the sides are also looking out for the possibility of having direct air connectivity between Rajasthan and Malaysia, developing the ‘Pink City’ as a hub for medical tourism, boosting healthcare infrastructure and helping in the building of affordable housing.
The meeting between the Malaysian PM and Rajasthan CM was also attended by the state’s Transport Minister Yunus Khan, Srichand Kriplani, Urban Development and Housing Minister, Rajpal Singh, Industry Minister, Krishnedra Kaur, Tourism Minister and other senior officials in the state government. T S Tirumurti, India’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Hidayat Abdul Hamid, High Commissioner of Malaysia to India were also present at the meeting.
