Renault India registered a three-fold jump in its vehicle sales in April this year, as it sold 12,426 units last month as compared to 4,001 units in April 2015, the company said in a statement.

The company’s monthly domestic sales grew by 151 percent to 8,031 units in January 2016 as compared to 3,203 units in the same month of 2015.

“The Renault’s KWID model has got an overwhelming response from the Indian customers, not just from the big metro cities but also from small towns and cities," said Sumit Sawhney, CEO and MD of Renault India.

“In future, we are poised to maintain the momentum of sales, as we are strategically working towards enhancing our network of sales and services in India,” he added.

He said Renault KWID will play an essential role in Renault’s expansion plans in India. The company has already raised its production capacity at its Chennai plant to meet the demand of the product.
