Suzlon bags 50.40 MW project from a leading business house

Suzlon Group, a leading renewable energy solutions provider in the world, announced on Monday that it has won an order of 50.40 MW project for wind power from a leading business house.

“The project consists of 24 units of S95 90m tubular tower with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW,” Suzlon said in a press release.

The project is located in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh and is likely to be completed in March next year, it said.

After bagging this order, the total order portfolio of the company in the current year with the business house reach to 84 MW, of which 33.60 MW was earlier announced as a part of order bagged from small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The renewable energy company will give comprehensive maintenance and operation for a 20-year period and includes committed life-cycle asset management solutions to the project. The project has the capacity to provide power to more than 27,000 households and cut CO2 emissions to around 0.10 million tonnes per annum.

The platform of S9X 2.1 MW features the time-tested technology of Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) which is designed to optimally utilise given wind resources. This not only gives better energy yield, but also provides maximum returns on investment for clients.

Commenting on the deal J.P. Chalasani, Group CEO, Suzlon Group said, “We continue to collaborate with all stakeholders for India's sustainable development. We are witnessing increased traction across all customers segments like IPPs, large corporates and PSU's as well as retail.”

Suzlon’s focus is to cut down the energy cost by investing in products which are technologically-advanced thus enabling renewable energy to make the shift from alternative energy to mainstream energy, he added.
