The Dollar Business Bureau India has imposed anti-dumping duty ranging between $23.78 to $300.22 on the imports of  Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) from China, Qatar and Iran. LAB is majorly used in the preparation of various detergents. A notice to the effect was issued by the DGAD  via Customs notification no.12/2017-CUSTOMS dated April 11, 2017, to protect the domestic players from the cheap dumping of the shipments. The Dollar Business Bureau Moody's Investors Service on Wednesday said the domestic steel prices are expected to experience limited global pressure over the next 12-18 months due to the government’s adequate protectionist measures such as safeguards and anti-dumping duties. "Nevertheless, with domestic steel prices lower than international prices and adequate protections in place in the form of safeguards and anti-dumping duties, Moody's anticipates limited pressure on steel prices over the next 12-18 months," Moody’s said in a statement. PTI Government may soon come out with a decision on duty protection measure for the domestic aluminium sector which is facing dumping of products from countries like China. "We are working to provide safeguard duty protection for primary aluminium producers being hurt from dumping.
