JNPT records 5.11% growth in container traffic in Q1
The Dollar Business Bureau Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), India’s biggest container port, recorded a rise of 5.11% in container traffic by handling 1.20 million TEUs, during the first three months of the current fiscal over the same period last year. “India’s largest container port, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), registered a 5.11% growth in container traffic in the first quarter of the current financial year by handling 1.20 million TEUs as compared to 1.14 million TEUs in the corresponding quarter of the last financial year,” Ministry of Shipping said in a statement. APM Terminals Pipavav acquires 3 cranes from China
The Dollar Business Bureau APM Terminals Pipavav on Monday announced the acquisition of three new cranes from China. The cranes will be commissioned in a phased manner to replace the existing ones at the port. The new cranes will help in carrying out the vessel operations faster; reduce the turnaround time, and increase efficiency and productivity. Keld Pedersen, Managing Director, APM Terminals Pipavav said, “This is in line with our business expansion plan of increasing the capacity to 1.35 TEUs.
