Naidu inaugurates Mondelez plant in Sri City

The Dollar Business Bureau Mondelez India Foods Pvt Ltd, formerly Cadbury India Ltd, inaugurated its largest plant in the Asia Pacific region at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh, inaugurated the factory on Monday. “Built with an investment of $190 million, the multi-category manufacturing facility, initially, had the capacity to produce around 60,000 tonnes of the brand’s Dairy Milk chocolate, yearly. Global PC shipments down 9.6%

The Dollar Business Bureau For the sixth consecutive quarter, the PC shipments declined worldwide, and this time there was a decrease of 9.6 per cent at 64.8 million units in the first quarter of 2016, according to a report released by research firm Gartner. This is the first time since 2007 that shipment volume fell below 65 million units, it said. "The deterioration of local currencies against the US dollar continued to play a major role in PC shipment declines. Our early results also show there was an inventory build-up from holiday sales in the fourth quarter of 2015," said Mikako Kitagawa, principal analyst at Gartner. India to outpace China in merchandise exports in 2025-50

The Dollar Business Bureau  Asia Pacific’s share of global exports is also projected to increase from about a third in 2015 to 46% in 2050   India has the potential to outpace China in terms of merchandise exports in 2025-50, said a report by HSBC Financial Services. “We expect growth in merchandise exports from India to average 6% a year in 2025–50, compared with just under 5% a year for China,” said HSBC in its report. Indias exports to improve in 2016, says report

The Dollar Business Bureau Exports from India and Vietnam are expected to improve in 2016 as their outbound shipments are mostly directed to advanced economies of Europe and North America, a United Nations (UN) report has said. The ‘Asia Pacific Trade and Investment Report 2015’ released by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) has indicated that the countries which are heavily dependent on China for their domestic requirements are likely to suffer due to the ongoing slowdown in that country.
