US Committee says Indian policies are discriminating against US exports and investments
The Dollar Business Bureau The influential House Appropriations Committee in its report accompanying the annual Appropriations Bill 2018, said that several policies adopted by the Indian government to boost its economic growth, protect domestic manufacturing, actually discriminated against US exports and investments. 'India, while striving to improve its economic growth, has been enacting a series of policies to increase domestic manufacturing and protect domestic industries and agricultural production that discriminate against US exports and investment,' the Committee said. China posts a $9.15 billion trade deficit in Feb 2017
The Dollar Business Bureau China has, in an unusual instance, reported a trade deficit of $9.15 billion in the month of February 2017. In US dollar terms, there was a 38.1% year-on-year rise in imports while exports took a 1.3% plunge. This has been the first trade deficit China has had since February 2014. In January, the performance was much more moderate with a 7.9% growth in exports and 16.7% rise in imports. In terms of Chinese Yuan, there was a 44.7% surge in imports while exports rose by merely 4.2%. China denies blocking India's bid to join NSG
The Dollar Business Bureau China has denied claims that it was blocking India's bid to be a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG). Moreover, it has assured to work towards finding a solution for India entering into the group, along with the other 48 members of the NSG. China's Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Liu Zhenmin said that there should be a discussion with relevant parties on this issue.
