NTPC opens Pakri-Barwadih coal mine project
The Dollar Business Bureau State run power producer NTPC announced the takeoff of the Pakri-Barwadih coal mining project in Jharkhand. In a BSE filing, on Thursday, NTPC stated that the works for the Pakri-Barwadih coal mining project (Western pit) have begun. Earlier, the company had plans to begin production works at the coal block in 2015. However, the works for the project, which was stalled since 12 years, commenced in 2016. In 2015, NTPC was re-allocated five coal blocks, which were previously cancelled by the apex court. The re-allotted mines were among the 204 coal blocks which were cancelled by the Supreme Court. Poland, India to ink pact on cooperation in coal mining
