Reliance Defence signs an MoU with Frances Daher Aerospace

The Dollar Business Bureau  Reliance Infrastructure Ltd said on Thursday that its wholly-owned subsidiary Reliance Defence has signed a pact with French industrial conglomerate - Daher for manufacturing aerospace equipment. “This offers a great opportunity for both the companies to work together for aerospace composites parts manufacturer. There is an increasing demand in aerospace sector for the composite components,” said Reliance Infrastructure in a filing with BSE. India is seeking to double German investment: Ex-envoy

The Dollar Business Bureau India seeks to double the investment from Germany over the coming five years from the present 9.5 billion euros and it also wants a rise of two-fold in the number of German firms in the country, said a former India’s Ambassador to Germany on Tuesday.  In the last few years, India has attracted around 74 German firms that have business ideas worth $1 billion of investment, Gurjit Singh told PTI. US approves $75 mn chemical protective gear for Indian soldiers

PTI The US has approved $75 million high-tech chemical protective clothing for the Indian armed forces that will protect soldiers against biological and chemical warfare. The Joint Service Lightweight Integrated Suit Technology (JSLIST) consists of 38,034 each: suits, pairs of trousers, pairs of gloves, pairs of boots and NBC bags; 854 aprons; 854 alternative aprons; 9,509 Quick Doff Hoods; and 114,102 M61 filters. The entire package also includes 38,034 M50 general purpose masks. The Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) made a notification to the Congress on May 10 after the State Department made a determination in this regard. India encouraging global defence companies to set up units

PTI India is formulating policy to help major global defence companies set up manufacturing units in the country in collaboration with Indian firms, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said. "Under our changed policy, we are in the future going to concentrate not merely in buying from the rest of the world, but encouraging global defence majors in collaboration with Indian companies to set up manufacturing units in India, Jaitley said at a reception hosted by India's Ambassador to the US Navtej Sarna. India to build pipelines for supply of diesel and gas to Bangladesh

The  Dollar Business Bureau As part of the Framework of Understanding (FoU) on Cooperation in the Hydrocarbon Sector with Bangladesh, India is going to build two pipelines for diesel and natural gas between the two countries. The FoU was approved by the Cabinet soon after the recent visit of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The said FoU is non-binding in nature and expires after five years. With an objective of strengthening energy ties with its neighbours to enhance regional energy security, India will build a 131 km pipeline for diesel transportation from Siliguri in West Bengal to Parbatipur in Bangladesh. Another pipeline for natural gas will be laid from Dattapulia in West Bengal to Khulna in Bangladesh. India, Malaysia looking at signing over a dozen deals

PTI Projects worth USD five billion are expected to be discussed during the India visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, which started on March 30, as the two sides look at inking more than a dozen business deals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Najib will hold wide- ranging talks on April 1, during which the two sides will also try to take forward their cooperation in key areas of security, defence and counter-terrorism.
