NASSCOM lowers IT export growth estimates to 7-8% in 2017-18
The Dollar Business Bureau India’s IT software exports are expected to grow at 7-8% during the current financial year 2017-18, which is less than 8-10% in the previous fiscal of 2016-17, the apex trade body NASSCOM said on Thursday. “The outlook for the IT industry in fiscal 2017-18 is 7-8% growth in exports and 10-11% in the domestic market as against 10-12% in 2016-17,” NASSCOM said in a statement. The Indian IT services sector has been coping with a slowdown in the business of banking and financial services, which contributes a major part to the revenues. Consumption story set to grow three-fold to $4 tn by 2025: BCG
The Dollar Business Bureau The domestic consumption story of India is likely to increase three-fold to $4 trillion by 2025 as the increasing affluence levels led to changes in the behaviour of consumers and the patterns of spending which have huge implications for the firms, a report by the BCG said. A minimal year-on-year growth of expenditure of 12% in India is more than two-fold compared to the anticipated world rate of 5% and this will make it the third-biggest consumer market at $4 trillion by 2025, the report said. India is already the third biggest economy with regards to purchasing power. Google launches digital programme in India for SMBs
The Dollar Business Bureau Google’s Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai has launched 'Digital Unlocked', a training programme meant for empowering India’s small and medium businesses (SMBs) to support them to get their businesses online. Currently, India has around 51 million SMBs that contribute 37% to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Out of these, just 32% businesses are online or are leveraging the benefits of internet.
