Cabinet okays policy for offshore wind energy

"The Cabinet on Wednesday fixed policy guidelines for offshore wind energy in the coming days," Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy Minister Piyush Goyal said in a press conference after a Cabinet meeting here. "Under the policy, there will be energy mapping of the country and locations with high potential will be identified. Government to allot 62 offshore mineral blocks for mining

Mines Ministry has set up a committee that is framing the rules under the Offshore Development and Regulation Act, a top ministry official has said. “I have constituted a committee under Economic Advisor to frame rules under Offshore Development and Regulation Act.
