India, ASEAN represent an aspirational world: Jaitley

The Dollar Business Bureau Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Arun Jaitley said on Wednesday India and ASEAN nations represent an aspirational world in the times when the world is looking inwards. “One of our greatest challenges today is that the world has increasingly started looking inwards,” Finance Minister said while speaking at the ASEAN-India Business Meet and Expo organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in cooperation with the Finance Ministry and External Affairs Ministry. “In such protectionist times, India and the ASEAN nations represent an aspirational world which represents about 2 billion people,” he added. Govt eases process for processing FDI proposals

The Dollar Business Bureau Keeping with its aim to promote ease of doing business, the Government has simplified the process for processing proposals of foreign direct investment (FDI) by doing away with the need to send the applications to the Revenue Department. By doing amendments in the provision of standard operating mechanism for processing of foreign investment proposals, the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) said on Tuesday that “marking of proposals to the revenue department for their comments has been discontinued with immediate effect.” The step taken by the Department is aimed to further promote ease of doing business in India in order to attract more overseas investments. India, UAE to hold strategic talks on energy, trade, security

India likely to persuade Bangladesh for lifting jute export ban

Deepak Kumar | The Dollar Business Textile Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar held a meeting with the stakeholders to discuss ways to streamline the jute price   Taking note of the steep hike in jute price, the Indian government is likely to approach Bangladesh and ask for the withdrawal of ban on the export of raw jute from that country. Bangladesh government had on November 3 imposed a blanket ban on the outbound shipment of raw jute in order to ensure adequate supply of fibre within the domestic market and help sack makers.
