Industry seeks anti-dumping duty on fishnets imports

The Dollar Business BureauIndian fishnet manufacturing industry has urged the Indian government to initiate anti-dumping investigation and impose an anti-dumping duty on imports of fishnet or fishing net from Bangladesh and China.Indian Fishnet Manufacturers Association, on the behalf of the fishnet producers, filed a petition before the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) to identify, assess and collect anti-dumping duty on dumping of fishnets. Unit value of seafood exports have improved significantly and steadily in the recent years, reaching Rs.3,07,121.48 per tonne in FY2013-14, which is more than double the unit value of Rs. 1,48,113.16 per tonne seen in FY2009-10.
