Merkel visits Argentina, discusses trade and climate change

The Dollar Business Bureau   During her visit to Argentina, Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Thursday, that the two countries have agreed to promote multilateral trade and to protect the environment from climate change. The German Chancellor is on a visit to Latin American countries ahead of the G-20 summit, to be held in July in Germany. CBEC withdraws Import duty on vital radiopharmaceutical material

The Dollar Business Bureau The CBEC in its recent notification No.61/2016-Customs dated 27/12/2016 has detailed that the import duty on Technitium-99m ((HS 2844) ) has been withdrawn. India imports medically important radioisotopes such as Iodine-125, Iodine-131, Phosphorus-32, Samarium-153, Lutetium-177, Molybdenum-99 which are used for sourcing Technetium-99m. These radioisotopes are imported from France, Russia, Kazakhstan which are then put to use in radiopharmaceutical research and development. India also imports Molybdemun-99/Techtinium-99 from Canada, Egypt and South Africa. India will soon be zero petroleum import country, says Nitin Gadkari

G20 nations agree to improve trade governance to halt slowdown

PTI The world's top 20 economies on Sunday agreed to improve international trade governance in view of the global slowdown due to increasing anti-trade measures that have become more universal since 2009. G20 nations, which account for 85 per cent of the world trade, would remain committed to an open global economy, and will further work towards trade liberalisation and facilitation, said a statement released following the two-day G20 Trade Ministers Meeting in Shanghai. Australia okays uranium exports to India

The Dollar Business Bureau India intends to boost its nuclear capacity to 63,000 MW by 2032 by installing a total of 30 reactors at an approximate cost of $85 billion   Ending over a year-long negotiation on uranium exports to India, Australia has finalised an agreement allowing the energy-starved country to begin import of the fuel to meet its energy production requirement. “The Australia-India Nuclear Cooperation Agreement permits Australian companies to commence commercial uranium exports to India. This Agreement provides the framework for substantial new trade in energy between Australia and India,” Australia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
