The Dollar Business Bureau In a bid to take forward the Jagadishpur-Haldia-Bokaro-Dhamra gas pipeline (JHBDPL) project, GAIL (India) Limited has approved the placement orders for the laying work of 345-km section extending from Phulpur to Dobhi at an estimated cost of Rs.306 crore. The project, slated to begin by October-end and targeted to be completed by December 2018, will be simultaneously executed by JSIW Infrastructure Pvt Ltd and IL&FS Engineering & Construction Co Ltd under two different sections. The plan will be supported with a capital grant of 40 percent or Rs.5,176 crore, to be used over a period of five years. GAIL-Bloom Energy sign MoU for fuel cell power generation
The Dollar Business Bureau State-run GAIL (India) Ltd and California-based Bloom Energy on Monday inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for deploying revolutionary natural gas-based fuel cell to generate power. The MoU was signed by B C Tripathi, Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL and Dr K R Sridhar, CEO, Bloom Energy, in the presence of Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.Speaking at the occasion, Pradhan said, ‘This would be a technology which will have less pollution. We want this to be implemented in places like even our Parliament and also in areas like Andaman and Nicobar, where people are hugely dependent on diesel for power generation.” This new technology transforms fuel into power via electro-chemical process and water is also less utilized in this method ...
India taking lead to create alliance of gas importers
The Dollar Business Bureau Union Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that India is taking a lead for creating an alliance of gas importers all over the world for ‘reasonable and affordable pricing’. Pradhan told the reporters, "We must have cooperation between all the LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) and gas consuming countries, we must create a situation for a reasonable, rational and affordable price. India is taking the lead to create a network between these major gas consumers.” He added that calling gas an important fuel will be an important constituent for the country’s energy basket. Govt will not hike urea prices for the next 3 yrs
The Dollar Business Bureau The government decided not to hike urea prices for the next three years, said Union MoS for Chemical and Fertilizers, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir. While addressing the gathering present at the NDA government’s ‘Vikas Parv,’ Ahir stated that some measures have to be implemented to benefit farmers as Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government strives for the welfare of the farmers. Ahir was accompanied by the Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju for the event. The minister advised farmers to use neem-coated urea as it requires less investment and output too increases than with the usage of the regular urea, Ahir added. Deal with Qatar lowers gas prices to $5/mmBtu

In December 2015, India convinced Qatar to slash the prices of natural gas by almost half, to align with the declining global energy prices, thus helping the country in saving billions of dollars.
