Government soon to bring national policy on intellectual property rights

The Dollar Business Bureau To encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in the country, the government is in the process to bring in a national policy on intellectual property rights competent with the international trade norms. Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday said that a government-appointed think tank has already prepared the draft of the policy which has been sent to various ministries for consultation. India may not import more wheat due to high global prices

Source: PTI India is unlikely to import more wheat in the coming weeks due to surge in global prices and concerns that the government may anytime slap 10% duty on inbound shipments, traders said. Private flour millers had recently contracted 5 lakh tonnes of wheat from Australia for the first time in a decade due to sluggish supply of domestic high protein wheat and lower international prices. They had plans to contract another 5 lakh tonnes from France and Russia.
