Smriti Irani inaugurates 44th edition of IHGF-Delhi 2017
Aamir H Kaki Textiles Minister Smriti Irani on Thursday inaugurated the 44th edition of Indian Handicrafts and Gift Fair (IHGF) 2017, organised by Exports Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), at India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida. In her address, she said, “I hope that the delegates who will come to attend the IHGF from over 100 countries would have more and more B2B engagements with the representatives and export houses, which are exhibiting their products at the Fair. Rise in tourist arrivals augurs well for handicrafts sector
The Dollar Business Bureau India’s handicrafts exports are likely to cross Rs 17, 000 crore mark by the end of FY 2015-16 and Rs 21, 000 crore mark by FY 2020-21, said the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM) study titled ‘Infusing vibrancy into Indian handicrafts sector’. India's handicrafts exporters welcome increase in drawback duty rates

In a recent notification, the Department of Revenue increased the drawback duty rates for agarbathi (incense), wooden frames, tableware and kitchenware of wood, wood marquetry, artware of wood, embroidery of silk, handicraft/artware of Iron & Steel, handicrafts/artware of stainless steel, handcut crystal glassware, musical instruments and lamps.
