India-Russia progress in defence co-operation through Make in India
The Dollar Business Bureau After fruitful negotiations between India and Russia as a part of the India-Russia Military Industrial Conference, two agreements were signed between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and United Aircraft Corporation and United Engine Corporation of Russia for long-term technical assistance and spare parts required to service the Russia-originated Su -30 MKI aircraft. Russia has broadly agreed to enter into joint ventures with Indian manufacturers for a seamless supply of spare parts and components necessary to maintain operational readiness of Russian-origin defence platforms used by the Indian Army. HAL finishes Rs.4.77 cr Kumudvathi rejuvenation project
The Dollar Business Bureau Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the state-run aerospace and defence company, said today that it has completed the Rs.4.77 crore river rejuvenation project of Kumudvathi River - near Nelamangala taluk in Bengaluru Rural district of Karnataka. Government allows foreign firm to bid for a domestic helicopter contract
The Dollar Business Bureau In a move to promote the Make in India, the Government of India has decided to allow a foreign firm to bid for a Naval Utility Helicopter (NUH) contract, on the condition that the firm ties up with a local vendor. According to the Defence News, the Indian government is likely to allow the Italy-based AugustaWestland to bid for NUH for the Indian Navy. The contract by the Indian Navy, for the supply of 100 light-utility vehicles is estimated to be worth around US$ 2 billion, the report informed.
