CBEC amends Bill of Entry norms to prescribe late charges
The Dollar Business Bureau The Central Board of Excise and Customs has amended the Bill of Entry (Electronic Integrated Declaration) Regulations and Bill of Entry (Forms) Regulations – a part of the Customs Act, 1962 - to prescribe late charges for delayed filing. The amendments have been made to prescribe a late charge for delayed filing of Bill of Entry. After the amendment, the importer will be required to present the bill of entry before the end of the next day after the aircraft or vessel or vehicle carrying the goods has arrived at a customs station at which such goods are to be cleared for home consumption or for warehousing. The CBEC has decided to include Jharsuguda as an Inland Container Depot (ICD) in its latest notification No.139/2016-Customs (N.T.) dated 25th November, 2016. Jharsuguda is the second ICD in Odisha after Balasore. CONCOR Jharsuguda was operational as a Domestic Container Terminal for the first 3-4 months and later converted as an ICD. CBEC notifies to set up CCFC for Land Customs Stations, ICDs
The Dollar Business Bureau For expeditious clearance and identifying and resolving bottlenecks of imported and export goods, the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC)via circular no.-44/2016-CUSTOMS Dated 22nd September, 2016 has notified to set up Customs Clearance Facilitation Committee (CCFC) for Land Customs Stations and Inland Container Depots (ICDs) at Amritsar, Patna, Kolkata and Shillong. “With a view to have similar administrative arrangements for facilitation of trade in the Land Customs Stations, CCFCs shall be set up in the Commissionerates of Amritsar; Kolkata, Patna, and Shillong, having jurisdiction over the various Land Customs Stations,” the CBEC said in a notification released on Thursday. “The CCFCs shall also be set up in the Commissionerates having jurisdiction over the ICDs,” it added. EXIM Bank signs $100 million deal with ICD

CONCOR starts new weekly train between Krishnapatnam Port and ICD Whitefield
