Among other things, export control regulations involve subjecting exports of specified items to prior authorization / licensing. The objective is to prevent illegitimate trade in such dual-use items and control the export of products to countries that are considered as a national threat. The Dollar Business Bureau India’s widely appreciated basmati rice may face the closed doors of the EU due to the new regulations that EU has imposed on chemical residues, The All India Rice Exporters Association (AIREA) said on Wednesday. A fungicide named tricyclazole which many farmers use to prevent leaf and neck blast in basmati paddy varieties was banned by EU. For sometime EU had allowed a maximum residue limit (MRL) of 1ppm (parts per million) on the basmati rice that was exported to EU. However, it has issued a notification that residues above 0.01 ppm will not be allowed in the basmati imports after Dec 31, 2017. FIEO sets export target of $325 bn for this fiscal
The Dollar Business Bureau With India’s exports witnessing a continuous growth, the exporters’ body Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) expects that the merchandise shipments from the country would touch $325 billion in the current fiscal. “Indian exports have been on an upward trend in last few months with export of $275 billion in last fiscal and a target of $325 billion to achieve in 2017-18,” the exporters’ body said in a statement. Milaha Launches First Direct Container Service Between Saudi Arabia And India
