US asks India to remove customs duties on ICT items
The Dollar Business Bureau Ahead of the scheduled bilateral Strategic and Commercial Dialogue next month, US asked India to remove customs duties on the products of information and communications technology (ICT). “We are also asking India to eliminate customs duties on ICT products. This will help introduction of these products into the supply chain operations,” said Robert Holleyman, Deputy US Trade Representative (USTR) on Monday, at an event organised by the think tank, Observer Research Foundation. Huawei to help India to build ICT for smart cities
Source: PTI China's Huawei Technologies wants to play an important role in helping India build Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure for the development of smart cities, a senior company executive said in Singapore on Thursday. “We will be able to help India build ICT infrastructure including wireless systems and the computing platforms for the smart cities,” said Joe So, Chief Technology Officer for Industry Solutions at Huawei in Shenzhen head office. “We can help build the inter-dependency of the Indian system,” he said, stressing on Huawei's strength in building ICT infrastructure. India looks beyond Vietnam in CLMV to boost trade
