Govt to extend support to promote cruise tourism

The Dollar Business BureauReviewing the operations of Cochin Port Trust, Minister of State (MoS) for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan said the ministry will extend adequate governmental support to promote cruise tourism. Radhakrishnan also appreciated the steps taken by Cochin Port to install RFID-based Gate Access System and online berth allotment system to facilitate trade and enhance efficiency, an official announcement said. Adani inks MoU with L&T to acquire Kattupalli Port

The Dollar Business Bureau Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) through its subsidiary Adani Kattupalli Port Private Limited (AKPPL), on Monday, entered into an agreement with L&T Shipbuilding (L&T) to acquire the latter’s Kattupalli Port in Tamil Nadu. The strategically-located port has the potential to become the biggest trans-shipment hub in the region. Production of crude oil, natural gas fall short of target for FY2014-15

Production of crude oil, natural gas and up gradation of highways have shown shortfall from the respective targets for the financial year 2014-15, showed a government data. Production of power, finished steel, coal, fertilizer, refinery, cement, goods traffic carried by railways, cargo handled at major sea ports, airports and net addition in telephone switching capacity and new cell phone connections were all higher than the achievement during the corresponding period of the previous year.
