IT industry to create 25-30 lakh jobs by 2025: Prasad
The Dollar Business Bureau Refuting the claims of any slowdown in the Indian IT sector, Law and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Tuesday that the sector will generate 25-30 lakhs jobs by 2025. “As (the) IT minister of the nation, I completely deny and refute that there is any downturn in the employment in this sector. IOC to set up Rs 600-cr ethanol plant at Panipat
PTI State-owned oil company Indian Oil Corporation will set up a Rs 600-crore plant to produce second generation ethanol at Panipat in Haryana. The state government has accepted the investment proposal, which was approved by the empowered executive committee at its meeting held here today, an official spokesperson said. "The plant will use plant waste, stubble, husk and straw to produce 100 KL of ethanol every day. The state government has agreed to provide land either on nominal lease or free of cost. Billed to be the largest such plant in the country, it is expected to generate hundreds of jobs," the spokesperson added. Investment proposals worth nearly Rs. 3 lakh crore to be signed
PTI Investment proposals worth nearly Rs.3 lakh crore would be signed with different companies during the February 16/17 Global Investment Summit (GIS) in Ranchi, a top Jharkhand government official said. Several companies have evinced interest and during the GIS many MoUs would be signed, Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma said, according to an official release here. The government’s effort would be to sign as many MoUs as possible and bring more and more investors to Jharkhand, she said. The Chief Secretary said that liaison officers would be there to inform about Jharkhand to the participating investors or delegates, it said. Taking stock of the preparations at the Khelgaon, Verma said she was fully satisfied with the preparations.
PowerGrid board approves investments of Rs 733.32 cr
The Dollar Business Bureau The Power Grid Corp on Friday said it has approved three investment proposals for power transmission related projects worth Rs.733.32 crore. “The board accorded approval to three investment proposals totalling Rs 733.32 crore in its meeting held today,” the company said in an announcement. The board approved 'provision of STATCOM at Nalagarh and Lucknow in Northern region’ at an approximate cost of Rs 431.89 crore. These projects have a commissioning schedule of 30 months from the date of investment approval'. It has also given a nod to invest in provision series reactor in the Northern region. MHA gave security clearance to twice as many industrial projects
Source: PTI To give impetus to Make In India initiative, Home Ministry gave security clearance to more than twice the number of fresh investment proposals in 2015 compared to previous year after conducting national risk assessment. As many as 1,744 industrial projects were given security clearance in 2015. In comparison, 815 investment proposals were cleared in 2014 and 712 proposals in 2013, a Home Ministry official said. The huge jump in investment proposals getting the nod came after the Home Ministry issued policy guidelines for assessment of proposals for national security clearance on July 1, 2015.
