Market development schemes set to promote MSME sector exports
The Dollar Business Bureau The Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise, on Thursday, said that the government was implementing various schemes for the market development aimed at promoting exports of MSME products. Kalraj Mishra, the Minister of State, MSME, said his ministry is implementing various export promotion schemes which include International Cooperation Scheme (ICS), Marketing Development Assistance Scheme (MDAS), among others. Under the ICS, the financial assistance will be given to the enterprises, organizations, associated with MSMEs on a re-imbursement basis. Through this scheme, the ministry encourages deputation of domestic MSME business delegations to other countries for exploring new areas of MSMEs. Khadi exports can boost Indias MSME sector
The Dollar Business Bureau India’s export of Khadi products was Rs 28.44 lakh during 2013-14, down by more than 50% as compared to the figure registered a year ago. During the financial year 2012-13, the export of various Khadi products crossed Rs 59 lakh, almost five times higher than the total export worth Rs 11.92 lakh a year ago, revealed a government data. Revamped SFURTI scheme to boost Khadi industry
The Dollar Business Bureau The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) on Sunday, organized an event aimed at promotion of traditional industries of India. A national workshop on revamping of ‘Scheme of fund for regeneration of traditional industries (SFURTI)’ was aimed at creating platform for interaction and knowledge sharing on cluster development. Speaking at the meet, the Union Minister of MSME, Kalraj Mishra announced that under the current five year plan, the Ministry would set up 800 SFURTI clusters to boost the Khadi and Village Industries (K&VIs).
