L&T signs deal to manufacture artillery guns with Hanwha Techwin
The Dollar Business Bureau Indian multinational conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) signed a pact with South Korean weapons technology firm Hanwha Techwin for supplying artillery guns to the Indian Army. The deal is estimated to be worth Rs.4.5 billion (around $696.38 million), the two companies said on Friday. Jayant Patil, Head - Defence and Aerospace Wing, L&T, said that the two firms will together manufacture self-propelled howitzer. It will give a boost to the Make-in-India drive, of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to push the local industry. The Dollar Business Bureau Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Thursday announced its electrical and automation business division has secured a Rs.500 crore contract from Qatar Rail Company for phase 1 of Doha Metro. “L&T Electrical & Automation, the competency centre for L&Ts automation business in UAE, has bagged the Rs.500 crore contract from Qatar Rail Company (QRAIL),” L&T said in a statement issued. The Dollar Business Bureau L&T Construction, a subsidiary of Indian multinational Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), has won orders worth Rs.2,416 crores across its several business divisions in the month of June this year. The building and factories division of L&T has bagged orders amounting to Rs.1,165 crores. This includes a contract from a major developer in Mumbai for a high-rise residential project, the company said in a statement. Indian infra major to build 400 MW power plant in Bangladesh
The Dollar Business Bureau Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Wednesday announced that it has received a Rs.1,700-crore order from Japan’s Marubeni Corporation for setting up the Bibiyana III 400 MW combined cycle power plant project of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB). “BPDB awarded the EPC contract for setting up the 400 MW gas based power plant project to Marubeni Corporation of Japan, which in turn awarded the EPC sub-contract to L&T on turnkey basis,” said L&T in a statement.
