The Dollar Business Bureau India had imposed a ban on milk and milk products being imported from China starting in 2008 and since then has been extending it. The ban which expired on June 23 this year was extended for another year i.e till June 23, 2018 as per notification no., 10/2015-2020 dated June 22, 2017, issued by the DGFT. India extends ban on import of milk items from China
The Dollar Business Bureau The government on Friday extended the ban on import of milk and milk products from China for one more year. The prohibition will continue for another year, or until further notification, whichever is earlier. The earlier ban on import of milk and milk products, consisting of chocolate and chocolate products, candies, confectionary and all other foods prepared with milk ingredient, was effective till June 23, 2016. Government to give Food Safety and Standards Authority of India more teeth
The Dollar Business Bureau The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), in its latest move on Tuesday, recommended imposition of ban on milk and milk products, chocolates from China for one-year period, i.e, till June 23, 2016. India imposed ban on said-products firstly in September 2008, after having found presence of melamine (used for making plastics and fertilizer) in the imported products.
