Odisha issues notification for e-auction of 4 mines
PTI Odisha government today issued notification for auction of four mines -- three limestone and one having manganese deposits. The notification inviting tender was issued by the Steel and Mines Department for e-auction of mines at Uskalvagau, Kottameta and Garraamora limestone mines and Laserda-Pacheri manganese ore mine. The mines are located in Maoist affected and tribal dominated Malkangiri, Keonjhar and Nuapada districts. The last date for purchase of tender documents is December 5 and the last date for submission is December 12 this year, said the notification. The e-auction process of the mines would be completed in January. Himachal govt issues guidelines for scientific mining
PTI Himachal Pradesh government has notified the guidelines for transparent auction and scientific mining and hiked the penalty for offences under the mining act. The government has decided that the mining lease would be granted through open auction, officials said. In order to curb illegal mining the state government has notified Himachal Pradesh Minor Minerals (Concession) and Minerals (Prevention of Illegal Mining,Transportation and Storage) Rules, 2015 providing for stringent punishment for illegal mining. Imprisonment up to two years or fine up to Rs 25,000 or both has been made for those involved in illegal mining of minerals, their transportation and holding. CCEA gives nod to 9 rail projects worth Rs.24,000 cr
The Dollar Business Bureau In a major push to boost the Indian infrastructure sector, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved nine projects worth Rs.24,374.86 crore for the expansion of railway network and connectivity in nine states of the country. In order to achieve a capacity to transport goods worth 1.5 billion tonnes per annum through rail network by 2020, the CCEA has given final nod to the nine projects at an estimated cost of Rs 24,374.86 crore. Index of mineral production witnesses 1.3% growth in May
The Dollar Business Bureau The index of mineral output of mining and quarrying sector for May 2016 (new series 2004-05=100) witnessed a 1.3 percent growth compared to the same month in 2015. The cumulative growth for April-May 2016-17 as compared to the corresponding period of last year surged 1.2 percent, according to the provisional figures provided by Ministry of Mines in a statement on Monday. The overall value of India’s mineral production, excluding the atomic and minor minerals, during the month of May this year stood at Rs.18809 crore, in which coal contributed the highest at 39 percent (Rs.7423 crore). The contribution of other minerals include crude petroleum Rs.5595 crore, natural gas (utilised) contributed Rs.2122 crore, iron ore Rs.1968 crore.
