The Dollar Business Bureau The government on Tuesday said that it is working for the development of food processing industry at a rapid pace and around 4 mega food parks will become operational in the coming three months. The industry is keenly interested in food processing sector as the Central government has got 300 proposals for establishing new cold chains, it said. “Just two mega food parks came into operation during 2009 and 2014, while 6 mega food parks became operational during the last three years – from 2014 to 2017. Government to develop new cargo terminals at 24 airports
The Dollar Business Bureau The government has identified 24 airports across the country for the development of cargo terminals. Airports located in tier-2 and tier-3 cities have been identified where common user domestic cargo terminal (CUDCT) will be established after checking feasibility, Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State, Civil Aviation, said in Lok Sabha. The facilities will be developed after carrying out feasibility study and minor modifications in the old/redundant passenger terminal buildings, he said. Centre to explore ways to use alternate fuel
The Dollar Business Bureau The government will formulate a new policy to check carbon emission from increasing number of vehicles and explore ways to use alternate fuel. An expert committee, which was formed to draft Auto Fuel Vision and Policy 2025, has suggested measures to improve auto fuel quality, cut emission from vehicles and availability of fuels, Minister of State, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan told Lok Sabha on Monday. The committee under the chairmanship of Soumitra Choudhuri, member of Planning Commission, has also recommended suitable mix of auto fuels including gas and its specifications.
