NABARD loan to cover 3.15 lakh acres under Micro Irrigation Scheme
PTI The Telangana Government today signed an MoU with NABARD here for a loan of Rs.874 crore to the Horticulture Development Corporation to cover 3.15 lakh acres under Micro Irrigation scheme for 2016-17 and 2017-18. A Government release quoted Agriculture Secretary Parthasarathi as saying agriculture in the state is rain-fed and about 42.82 lakh acres depend on borewells for irrigation. Due to change in climatic conditions, the ground water level is decreasing and it is the need of the hour for the farmer to use micro irrigation, he said. Parthasarathi said the target for the year 2016-17 under the NABARD project is to cover 2.23 lakh acres allotted to all districts in the state.
Govt asks NABARD to release Rs.21k cr to help farmers

Nabard to give Rs 7,000 crore to Telangana for 11 irrigation projects
The Dollar Business Bureau The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) will be extending a loan of Rs 7000 crore to the Telangana Govt for 11 irrigation projects. The loan is a part of the MoU between the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation and NABARD for providing assistance to 99 irrigation projects in the State. These projects come under the PM Krishi Sinchayee Yojana programme (PMKSY). The Telangana Minister for Irrigation, T Harish Rao met Central ministers, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Uma Bharti and RadhaMohan and apprised them of the issues related to their ministries in the State. RBI asks co-op banks to monitor NPA level in SHGs
The Dollar Business Bureau The Reserve Bank of India has asked the co-operative banks to “immediately start” monitoring the non-performing assets(NPA) in the Self Help Group segment. They have also stressed on the credit ratings of the same. The RBI had earlier asked the co-operative banks to report the member level data and the credit information relating to SHG and its members. RBI said that the requirement of the information will be implemented in two phases. Phase I will start from 1st of July 2016 and will last for one year. Phase II will be implemented from 1st July 2017 and expects that credit related information will increase during this period. Uttarakhand to ask for Rs.500 cr loan from NABARD
Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Harish Rawat, has asked the state officials to draft a proposal for acquiring a loan of Rs.500 crore from NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development). The loan is to be taken for developing roads in rural areas and requesting for additional credit for the state’s drinking water supply initiatives. The order for the proposal came right after D N Magar, Chief Managing Director of NABARD visited the Chief Minister, an official release said on Wednesday. Centre gives the nod for setting up of 30 new cold chain projects
The Dollar Business Bureau The Government of India has sanctioned the proposal for setting up of 30 new cold chain proposals with a grant-in-aid of Rs 274.9 crore. The above information was given by Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Minister of Food Processing Industries, who told the media that the aid would attract an investment of Rs 470 crore, reported a PIB release.
