Odisha approves Rs.3,000 cr worth of investment proposals
The Dollar Business Bureau In order to keep its commitment to speed up the implementation of new proposals for investment, Odisha’s Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCLA) cleared projects worth around Rs.3,000 crore, in many sectors including steel, petrochemicals, hospitality and food processing that would help in generating employment opportunities for around 22,000 people. The SLSWCLA headed by the State’s Chief Secretary A P Padhi recommended a proposal by navratna PSU, NLC India Ltd, for setting up a power plant to the high-level clearance authority chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Odisha sets seafood export target at Rs 20,000 cr in 5 yrs
PTI Odisha is eyeing five-fold growth in seafood exports to Rs 20,000 crore in the next five years and is looking to facilitate infrastructure development such as improvement in fishing harbors to meet the target. "Odisha has a huge potential to augment exports of seafood. We have set a target to increase the seafood export by five-fold," Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said inaugurating a workshop 'Growth and Export Potential of Marine Products'. The total quantity of marine products exported during 2014-15 from Odisha, was 34,767 MTs valued at Rs 2,069 crore, said the State's fisheries and animal resource secretary B.P. Sethi. Odisha ratifies GST Bill
PTI The Odisha Legislative Assembly today unanimously ratified the Constitution Amendment Bill for Goods and Services Tax (GST), paving way for introduction of the landmark tax reform. Odisha ratifies GST bill, now minimum requirement of 50% states ratifying the bill is complete: Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia.
