Customs extends SWIFT to test online export of wildlife cargo

The Dollar Business Bureau With the successful implementation of SWIFT for imports and exports, the Government has asked CBEC to test run the online release from Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) for exports from January 5, 2017. The pilot project is to be tested at Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai Air cargo complexes during the handling of wildlife items that are listed under Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).  Since these items require special handling and the concerned officers at the above-mentioned air cargo complexes have to inspect and certify by endorsing on relevant CITES permits. Integrated Declaration to ease bottlenecks for importers

 The Dollar Business Bureau Good news for the importers, as now they just have to file only one “Integrated Declaration” electronically, whereas currently the process was to submit nine forms to be approved from various government agencies before consignments could be imported. This move has been brought in to remove bottlenecks and to speed up the process. “Integrated Declaration” was developed by the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), where all the information that would be required for import clearance by the government agencies has to be incorporated electronically in the form of Bill of Entry.
