The Dollar Business Bureau The Customs department has suspended the imports of livestock and livestock products into India from all countries due to the threat of avian influenza. A communication to the effect was issued via notification no: 09/2015-2020 dated June 8, 2017. Kuwait bans Indian poultry products

In Oct the Gulf nations’ PAAFR department (Public Authority of Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources) had agreed to lift the ban on importing of live poultry, one-year old chicks of the egg laying hens and flesh hens from India. This decision by the Middle East could have a serious impact on India’s poultry exports as India mainly exports poultry to Middle East countries.
