'India has potential of defence exports worth $1 billion'

The Dollar Business Business India has the potential to increase its defence exports by 10 times in the next two-three years, according to Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. “There is a potential of $1 billion worth of exports of technology products developed by DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) in two-three years,” Parrikar said at a function in New Delhi on Wednesday. At present, the country’s annual defence export is estimated to be at the level of $100 million. India, Australia ink deal worth $1 mn to promote research

The Dollar Business Bureau India and Australia have signed a deal worth AUD 1million to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, training and research. “Both countries agreed for a total joint financial commitment of up to AUD1.0 million for various activities under educational cooperation,” an official statement said on Monday. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between India’s Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani and Australian Minister for Education and Training, Christopher Pyne MP. Twenty-five states yet to meet Food Security Act requirements
