Confirming the news to the media, a PTI source said, "Apple is selling iPhone SE in India at select stores. Separate company needed to operate Govt e-Marketplace: Com Min
The Dollar Business Bureau The Commerce Ministry plans to form a separate company for the management of government e-Marketplace (GeM), a platform for the Central Government departments to source office supplies from. In an initiative to make procurement of goods and services by the government transparent, the NDA regime had announced the creation of an online platform for public procurement in Budget 2016-17. Developed jointly by Directorate General of Supplies and Disposal (DGS&D) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD), GeM began full-fledged operations from August 2016. As of January 2017, the government is reported to source more than 7400 products in 150 different categories from the GeM portal. Jivi Mobiles to invest Rs.200 cr on new manufacturing unit
The Dollar Business Bureau Jivi Mobiles is planning to invest around Rs.200 crore in establishing a manufacturing plant in Lonavala having a capacity to produce 5 lakh mobiles each month. Currently, it sells roughly around 3-3.5 lakh mobile phones per month and expects to sell more than 6 lakh phones a month. The Indian mobile manufacturer aims to sell over 10 lakh phones a month by next financial year. Mobile handsets market dips by 15% in the first three months of 2015
The Dollar Business Bureau The Indian mobile handsets market declined 15% in terms of overall sales in the first three months of 2015 even as the market leader Samsung managed to retain its leadership position, a study said on Wednesday. Sluggish sales registered in both smart phone and feature phone segments. However, smart phones sales declined by only 7% as compared to more than 18% in the case of feather phones segment.
