The Dollar Business Bureau Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Tuesday said that there is no decline in the exports of buffalo meat from legal slaughter houses in the country. The latest crackdown of illegal abattoirs in Uttar Pradesh is in compliance with the order of Supreme Court to check environment pollution and to protect the health of people, the Minister added. The Dollar Business Bureau The country’s apex court had delivered its judgement in the decade old litigation of Target Plus Scheme (TPS) for Export Promotion in the Civil Appeal No. 554/2006 titled DGFT v/s Kanak Exports & Ors., on 27th October 2015. Accordingly, the Government has approved implementation of TPS for 2005-06 as per the Judgment of the Supreme Court. The recent notification No.06/2015-2020 dated May 8, 2017 has been issued in this regard. The DGFT has instructed all its Regional Authorities to re-examine all the eligible claims/applications pending for TPS 2005-06 for issue of the balance claim/recovery of wrong claims as applicable after ensuring due diligence and ensuring genuineness of the exports. Ban call on Coke, Pepsi by TN traders body comes into effect
PTI A call by the Traders Federation in Tamil Nadu to ban sales of Coca Cola and Pepsi soft drinks came into effect on Wednesday with its President A M Vikrama Raja declaring drinks as 'toxic' for consumption. "About 70% of the (15 lakh) traders have decided to boycott the sales of Coke and Pepsi from today onwards for their toxic nature. Iron ore production to touch 185 MT in 2017-21

It is estimated that by 2021 it could touch 185 million tonnes (MT). According to a Fitch Group research company, India’s iron ore production quantity will touch 185 MT in 2021 from 136 MT this year. Ranjeet Mahtani and Stella Joseph One of the noteworthy proposals made in the Union Budget of 2017 is the proposal to rationalize Section 10AA of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (“IT Act”), which contains special provisions in respect of newly established Units in Special Economic Zones (“SEZ”). The IT Act provides for the levy, collection and recovery of income tax in India. It is divided into various chapters governing separate aspects including exemptions, computation of total income, deductions, etc. Section 10AA of the IT Act is a provision contained in Chapter III of the IT Act which was inserted w.e.f. 10.02.2006 allowing for deduction of profits and gains derived from the export earned by an SEZ Unit. Iron ore e-auction fetches Goa government Rs.7 crore
Source: PTI Goa government has earned Rs.7 crore through e-auctioning of 55,000 tonnes of iron ore, a senior official said on Wednesday. “The seventh e-auctioning of ore was held this week. A total of 55,000 tonnes of iron ore were sold, bringing in revenue of Rs.7.07 crore,” Mines and Geology department Director Prasanna Acharya said. The Supreme Court, in its verdict that had lifted the stay on the iron ore extraction activity, has allowed the state government to e-auction the ore which was lying at various places including mining leases, jetties among others.
